Τhe original artifact is being displayed on Metropolitan Museum of New York ( (Credit Line: Gift of Estée Lauder Inc., 1992.Accession Number: 1992.180.3).It originated from South Italy (Apulia, 4th century BC) and bears all the characteristic anatomical features of a Greek muscle breastplate of that era.The body tries to imitate the torso of a middle age veteran shoulder.
The reproduction have been made with a sheet of bronze 1,2 mm. by using exclusively traditional techniques (hot raising).The breast plate is being displayed to its last phase of its raising as an exhibit of the “Hephaestus workshop”.It’s brown color of the bronze sheet have been obtained due to repetitive fire processing.
